Collection contains a diary written by Baldy during his trip to and from California. Included is a partial transcript for May 15 - Sept. 1852. Diary provides descriptions of the landscape, route, seeing a herd of buffaloes, Black Hills, arriving on the Pacific Coast, trading posts operated by Indians.
