Biographical / Historical

Annias Bill Reeves was born in Texas and came to Denver, Colorado in 1948 to go to college. He had started college in Texas at Prairie View, but did not have enough money. In Denver, he stayed with an aunt while he went to school and was drafted into the Korean War.

Reeves joined the Teamsters Union in 1959 and maintained membership until 1987. He worked in the truck repair department at Safeway where he was elected assistant steward. The Teamster Local 435 honored him with a 25-year service pin.

Reeves joined the American Legion, Wallace Simpson Post 29, in 1962. He was an active member in American Legion affairs holding both local and regional offices.

Since his retirement Reeves, has been busy with volunteer work at the Denver Medical Center (the VA Hospital) and he has been active at the Central Baptist Church of Denver as a deacon and an active servant on the deacon board.
