Biographical / Historical
Elliot Alonzo Draine was born June 30, 1910 to parents Alonzo W. and Susan Rowan Draine in Keokuk, Iowa. He had one brother Milford R. Draine. Elliot Draine attended the University of Iowa and received an A.B. degree in 1932 and received an A.M. degree from the University of Denver in 1941. He married Louise Black of Denver, Colorado. He worked as a school principal, social worker, newspaper circulation manager in Missouri before moving to Denver. In Denver, he worked for the Denver Housing Authority and for the Denver County Court. He was also very active in civic and community organizations on the U.S.O Operating Committee, the Glenarm Y.M.C.A, Urban League of Denver, Denver Unity Council, Denver Tuberculosis Society, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Louise Draine passed away on February 7, 1980. Elliot Draine passed away on April 1, 1982.

Condition Description
Many of the photos in Photobox1 and 2 are brittle. The Holy Communion certificate in box 1 needs to be flattened. The family bible in Box 2 is fragile. The spine has broken off as well.
