Includes "Pioneer Wife, the True Story of the Life of My Mother" by Grace Boutwell Allen.

Biographical / Historical

James Lewis Boutwell and Sarah Jane Thiell were married in Three Rivers, Mich. on July 5, 1855. James travelled to Boulder City, Nebraska Terriroty in 1859. He returned and brought his family from Mich. to Nebraska Territory in Spring 1860. Later in Golden (1870) and Colorado Springs before moving to Denver in 1876. where James Boutwell was apoointed the custodian/guide at the State Capitol by Governor James B. Orman.
