Collection contains copy of last will and testament for Julius C. Gunter (1940-1941), legal documents and letter to Huldah Wilson, a household employee, concern probate; hymnal; diaries of wife, Bettie Brown Gunter, include correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, pressed flowers, telegrams, and fabric miniatures of the United States and Colorado flags (1940-1941). Daily handwritten entries contain information about the social, religious, political, medical, economic, intellectual, and cultural life in early 20th century Denver. Photographs of Bettie Brown Gunter and Julius C. Gunter.

Biographical / Historical

Julius C. Gunter was appointed justice of the Colorado Supreme Court in 1901, and served as the Governor of Colorado from 1917-1919.
