The Lois Webster Fund of Denver Audubon was established in 1995 to support Colorado non-game wildlife research, education, and conservation projects. The Lois Webster Fund was created to continue the efforts of Lois Webster in non-game wildlife education and research. Lois was a founder of the Denver Audubon Society in 1969, a biology teacher of Aurora Public Schools, and a dedicated environmentalist and birder. In addition to the President, Treasurer, and Conservation Chair, The Lois Webster Fund is comprised of 13 Colorado citizens who have experience in field research, education, and fund management. The grant had been awarded to 57 projects as of 2021.

Biographical / Historical

Arundel C. Hull was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1846. At the age of 16 he went to Saint Paul, Minnesota where he worked in a gallery and learned portrait photography. In 1863 he opened a studio in St. Cloud, Minnesota. In 1866 he sold his gallery and traveled to Omaha, Nebraska. In 1867 and 1868 he went to the Colorado, Wyoming and Utah territories where he made the photographs in volume 1 of this collection. In 1868 he returned to Omaha where he was employed by the Jackson Brothers to help photograph the Union Pacific Railroad.
