Biographical / Historical
Baxter B. Stiles was an American politician and lawyer. He served as the 8th (1869-1871) and 14th (1877-1878) mayors of Denver, Colo. Born June 26, 1824 or 1825 in Newbury, Orange County, Vermont; married Caroline J. Lane on August 1, 1854, later married Sarah B Woodward on May 15, 1878; died on September 30, 1889 in Denver,Colo. and is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
