Biographical / Historical

The Denver City Charter approved by Denver citizens in 1904 created a mayor-council form of government. The City Council makes laws, budgets city money, and can investigate city agencies and employees. The laws passed by Denver City Council are in the form of ordinances. City ordinances must first be advertised in newspapers before they become legal.
