Collection contains company's constitution; bylaws; correspondence; membership lists; meeting minutes; financial papers; newsletters; clippings; corporate records; annual statements; ledgers of issued insurance policies. Photographic prints: portraits and images of members of the Supreme Camp of the American Woodmen (later American Woodmen's Life Insurance Company); photographs of new buildings; views of buildings, parades, meetings, conventions, and camps (includes panoramic, col., b&w, photographic prints on card mounts : albumen, negatives : col., b&w).

Biographical / Historical
Organization founded in Denver, Colo. in 1901 as a fraternal benefit society. Established to provide life insurance and home mortgages to African Americans. Ceased operation in 1993.
