Biographical / Historical
Martin Bockelmann was born in Du Page County, Illinois. He was drafted in 1941 and joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado. He served with the 126th Engineer Battalion, Company A. He received the Bronze Star for his actions in the Po River crossing, April 23, 1945. Following the war, Bockelmann was employed at Elmhurst-Chicago Stone until his retirement.
