Scope and Contents
Collection contains correspondence, biography, resume, educational statement, newspaper clippings, photographs, resource center correspondence, and Irish documents (1970-2007). 16mm films (DVD copy) show locations: Glenwood Springs, Colo., Camp Hale, Colo., rock climbing school and mules; and contain individuals identified as Clint Boyd, Frank Bollers, Chuck Miller, Nelson Lofsted, Carl Maas, Francis Lovett, Clare Symonds, and Ray Franklin (ca.1943-1944).

Biographical / Historical
Francis William Lovett was born in Northampton, Mass. in 1922. During World War II, 1942-1945, he served with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy and was also stationed at Camp Hale, Colo., and at Camp Swift, Tex. He sustained injuries during his tour of service and received the Bronze Star, American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Medical Badge.
