Biographical / Historical

Richard C. Johnson was born August 19, 1915 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Johnson graduated from New Mexico A&MA, now New Mexico State, with a BS degree in agriculture in 1936. Johnson served with the 10th Mountain Division from 1942 through 1945. He participated in the Kiska landings and saw combat in Italy. He attained the rank of Major, and earned two Bronze Star medals for valor. Johnson and his wife Evelyn had three sons, six grand children and two great grandchildren.
