The collection includes an equipment test diary in leather case; clippings from the Fort Carson Mountaineer; seven film reels: Rope Bride and Mules: training at Fort Carson with the Mountain and Cold Weather Command (1942), Colorful Colorado (1947-1951), FIS Championships at Aspen (1950), Mountain and Cold Weather Training Command Activity (1942), Ski Scapes (1946), GI Travelogue (1943-1946) and an untitled film (ca.1943); scrapbook; negatives and photographs (1944-1951); artwork; clippings; correspondence.

Biographical / Historical
Herbert J. Rasor was born in Lethbridge, Alta., Canada in 1911 and immigrated to Portland, Or. in 1926. During WWII, Rasor joined the 10th Mountain Division and was assigned to the 87th Infantry Regiment, Company C, later with the Mountain Training Group and the 85th Infantry Regiment, Company A. A ski Instructor at Camp Hale, Colo., Rasor was also served at Fort Lewis, Wash.; Fort Ord, Calif.; Camp Swift, Tex. and in Italy. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Rasor died in Ariz. in 2005.
