Biographical / Historical

Born on March 13, 1917 in Houghtom, Mich. Wyllys R. "Bill" Seaman received his 2nd Lieutenant's commission through the ROTC training program at Michigan College, now Michigan Technical University, and graduated in 1939. Served on active duty until June 1941, when he took a job as a metallurgist in Wallace, Idaho. Returned to active duty during WWII and served with the 10th Mountain Division, assigned to the Headquarters Company of the 126th Mountain Engineer Battalion. Wounded in action in Italy on March 1, 1945. Following the war, pursued a career in radio broadcasting, advertising and TV film production. Died August 27, 2009 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
