Biographical / Historical

Jack Major was born March 15, 1917 in Salt Lake City Utah. He received a BS in Range Management in 1942 From what is now Utah State University. He then served in the 10th Mountain Division during WWII where he was a Corporal in the 10th Calvary Division. After the war he received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkley, in Soil Science. He then went on to have a career as a University professor. Ted Major is the brother of Jack Major, he was also a 10th Division Member. He was a 2nd Lieutenant during WWII in the 87th Infantry.
