Biographical / Historical

Ballard Gregg Busby was born in Sayre, Okla. on March 20, 1908 and enlisted in the Army on July 25, 1942 in Tyler, Tex. Busby was a Captain who served with 605th Field Artillery, Battery B, Headquarters Company. He was stationed at Camp Hale, Colo.; Camp Swift, Tex. and at Camp Carson, Colo. Busby participated in combat operations in Italy during World War II where he received the Bronze Star Medal during the Apennines and Po River campaigns.He was also wounded in action April 29, 1945. Busby died in Oklahoma City, Okla. in June 1971.
