Scope and Contents

Scrapbooks covering Archuleta's career and the dedication of Lena L. Archuleta Elementary School include newspaper clippings, photographs and personal documents; VHS videos of school dedication, Girl Scouts, AARP programs are also included in the collection. Additional items include awards information, diaries, notebook, autobiography, articles, news clippings, photograph and member listing.

Biographical / Historical

Born in Clapham, New Mexico on July 25, 1920. Graduated from Raton High School (Raton, N.M.). Married Juan U. Archuleta in 1943. Attended the University of Denver with B.A. in Education; received a master's degree in Library Science in 1951. Taught in N.M. and Colo. for over thirty years. Served in various administrative positions with the Denver Public Schools, including principal at Fairview Elementary School.
