Biographical / Historical

Edward J. Shields served with the 10th Mountain Division, first with the 85th Regiment, Company B and later in the Division Headquarters Company. He was stationed at Camp Hale, Colorado; Camp Swift, Texas; and Camp Carson, Colorado. He engaged in combat against German army forces occupying Italy from January – May 1945. He received a Bronze Star medal for the Apennines and Po River battles.
