Biographical / Historical

John Kroy Ostergaard was born in Oregon in July 1924, but grew up in Illinois. He joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado and later served at Camp Swift, Texas and in Italy. Ostergaard was a member of Company B, Headquarters of the 1st Battalion, and Company D of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He attained the rank of Private First Class.
