Biographical / Historical

Irving "Chuck" Miller was born on December 12, 1911. During World War II, he served as a medic with the 3rd Battalion, 86th Infantry Regiment and was stationed at Camp Hale, Colorado; Camp Swift, Texas; and in Italy. Miller received two Bronze Star Medals for his actions at the Apennines and Torbole in April 1945. In both instances, he was cited for courageously treating wounded comrades under extreme heavy enemy fire in complete disregard for his safety. Miller attained the rank of Technician, Grade 3.
