Biographical / Historical

LaVern O. Trepp was born in Kief, North Dakota in 1917 and enlisted in the Army at Wausau, Wisconsin in 1942. At the time of his enlistment he was unmarried, had completed two year of college and was working as a repairman. Trepp joined the 10th Mountain Division and was assigned to the 87th Infantry Regiment serving with numerous companies before becoming a medic with the 10th Medical Battalion. He participated in the invasion of Kiska Island, Alaska in 1943 and received a Bronze Star Medal during service in Italy.
