Biographical / Historical

Clayton Anderson was born in Washington State in 1923 and enlisted in the Army at Tacoma, Washington in 1942. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried and had attended one year of college. Anderson joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado. He was assigned to Company B of the 10th Quartermaster Battalion, where he eventually became the company's first sergeant. Anderson also served at Camp Swift, Texas and during combat operations in Italy.
