Biographical / Historical

Centennial held during 1959 to commemorate Colorado's "Rush to the Rockies." Celebrations were based on the historical discovery of gold in July 1858 in the Pike's Peak region of Kansas Territory. The events commemorated the efforts of the pioneers, miners, and cattlemen who had travelled to the area 100 years before.
