Collection includes a binder with pedigree and family group sheets (some with attached documentation) compiled in the 1970s-1980s by Richard Scott Mitchell (b.1929, Longmont, Colo.). The genealogical records document the descendants of Andrew Martindale (b.March 15, 1821, Patrick Co, Va.; d.June 22, 1897, Longmont, Boulder Co., Colo.) and Nancy Oliphant (1826-?). Research notes and correspondence document a possible relationship between Andrew Martindale and William Martindale (b.1753, Philadelphia, Pa.; d.1854 Chile, Miami Co., Ind.) and family. Other family surnames represented: Arthur, Bushnell, Carter, Durm, Farar, Fishburn, Fix, Hanchett, Hughes, Keener, King, Manwell, Markwell, Martindill, Mitchell, Pool, Oliphant, Southard, Spain, Trueblood, Whitmore. Vital record information dates from between 1821-1980s. Copies of written family histories contain information on Martindale families in England and colonial America. Records also provide information on Martindale families located in Calif., Colo., Ind., Iowa, Kan., Md., Neb., N.C., Va., and Wyo.
