Collection contains 12 letters received and written by Laura Bent. The bulk of the letters are between Laura Bent and another Denver Public School teacher: Alinda Bowman. Subjects covered include descriptions of life in Kan. and Southern Colo.; Christian Science; contemporary issues; popular culture (1951-1963); photograph of the Grade School Castle Rock, Colo (circa 1910); Recollections from My Childhood; personal history written by Margaret Jorgensen (1992) and tribute written by Ruth Carver, Routt County Schools, on the occasion of Ed and Jessie Carver’s Golden Wedding Anniversary (undated).

Biographical / Historical
Laura E. Bent was born in Ill. on February 7, 1881. She was married to Clinton A. Bent. The couple lived and worked as school teachers in Denver, Los Animas and West Castle Rock, Colo. Bent died in Denver, Colo. in 1971.
