Brian Lindner Research Papers
Scope and Contents
Collection contains research on soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division who were killed in action and also had a relationship to the state of Vermont including: David H.C. Dennis; Delmas J. Devenger; Roger D. Emerson; Edwin A. Johnson; William A. Kynoch; Robert J. LaBombard; James C. Muir; Herbert W. A. Spaulding; Everett R. Griffin. Research files contain military records, correspondence, interview transcripts, photographs.
The project was undertaken for the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum as each man was inducted into the Vermont Ski Hall of Fame. The original materials have been donated to the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum. Copies of primary documents have been donated to the Vermont Historical Society and to the 10th Mountain Division Resource Center, the Denver Public Library.
Files for each of nine men include photographs, interview transcripts, research call records, research correspondence, Individual Deceased Personnel Files, military orders, morning reports, excerpts from relevant historical documents and numerous other research materials.

Biographical / Historical
Brian Lindner was born July 17, 1952. He is a descendant of 10th Mountain Division veteran, Erwin Lindner (87-B). Lindner’s father was Ski Patrol Director at Stowe, Vermont from 1943 to 1946, and the family lived in the ski area base lodge. Brian grew up skiing. He was a ski racer in high school and worked as a ski instructor during college. He joined the ski patrol in 1987.
Lindner received a BA degree from the University of Vermont. Recently retired, Lindner served as EMT on local ambulance squad since 1986 and as Team Leader of a local search and rescue Team. Lindner is currently working on five books dealing primarily with military aviation. His articles have been published in numerous military journals. He is currently working as Corporate Historian for National Life Group in Montpelier, Vermont and as Corporate Historian for Stowe Mountain Resort.
