Biographical / Historical

Colorado pioneer. Arrived 1860 in search of gold. Served in 3rd Colorado Infantry during Civil War. Began residence in Pueblo, Colo. 1871, first as register of U.S. land office, later as lawyer (1874), and postmaster (1880). Active in Colorado Republican politics.
