Biographical / Historical

Robert F. Williamson was born May 17, 1925 in New York. He completed four years of high school prior to enlisting in the Army August 17, 1943 at New York City. During World War II, Williamson served with the 10th Mountain Division. He was initially assigned to the 90th Infantry Regiment at Camp Hale, Colorado. He later transferred to the 86th Infantry Regiment, Company C. He was also stationed at Camp Swift, Texas and engaged in combat during the 10th Mountain Division’s Italian Campaign. He received the Bronze Star Medal for his actions near Pilastrino, Italy April 18, 1945. Williamson passed away December 12, 2009.
