Scope and Contents
Collection includes copy of Forker's ski qualification scores (1943), correspondence of his recollections of the Italian Campaign (copies, 1989-2001), photographs of Company B 86th Regiment and training at Camp Hale (1943-1945), sketches of regimental crests, and a watercolor painting by Forker of the Camp Hale barracks and the view from hillside above the camp (1989), color photograph of Donald and Juanita Forker (ca.2000) .

Biographical / Historical
Born in Los Angeles, Calif. on July 6, 1923 and enlisted in the Army on January 26, 1943 after completing one year of college. Joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado and was assigned to the 86th Infantry Regiment, Company B. Served at Camp Swift, Texas and in Italy. Received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions near Sassomolare, Italy on March 4, 1945. After the war, received a Bachelor's degree in architecture and worked as a self-employed architect. Forker and his wife Juanita had two children.
