Biographical / Historical

Uno Isaacson was born on June 14, 1925 in Calumet, Mich. and enlisted in the Army on June 11, 1943 at Chicago, Ill. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school and working as a commercial driver. Isaacson joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Company K of the 87th Infantry Regiment. During combat operations in Italy, he was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his actions during the Po River and Apennines campaigns in Spring 1945.
