Biographical / Historical

Established at the suggestion of Horace Greeley, the Greeley Farmers' Club was organized on December 23, 1870. Captain David Boyd was elected president, J. Max Clark, secretary, and N.C. Meeker, treasurer. First regular meeting with 35 members was held on December 30, 1870. Tree planting was the discussion topic. Club was superseded by The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry in 1874.
