The interview provides information and personal observations about Parkers experiences: time growing up; joining the National Ski Patrol; training at Camp Hale, Colo., skiing and the "D" series; Kiska Island; trip to Italy aboard USS the West Point; attack at Riva Ridge; campaigns at Mount Belvedere, Malandrone Pass, Monte Serra; having dental work done in an apple orchard; post war experiences in skiing; founding Vale, Colo. Ski Resort with Pete Seibert; being publisher of Skiing magazine.

Biographical / Historical
Robert W. Parker was born in Evanston, Ill. on July 9, 1922 and joined the 10th Mountain Division in 1942 where he was assigned to the 87th Mountain Infantry Regiment. He participated in the Kiska Island invasion and during combat operations in Italy. Parker received two Bronze Star medals for his actions at Castel Franco on April 21, 1945 and at the Po Valley campaign, April 21-28, 1945.
