Biographical / Historical

Corporation formed in 1930 to operate a bathing institution with hotel in Idaho Springs, Colo. At that time, bathing in hot radium spring water was thougth to provide relief from, among others, rheumatisim, arthiritis, kidney trouble, nervousness, high blood pressure, neuritis, and diabetis. Drinking irradiated water was also promoted as a currative. The facility was formerly known as the Idaho Springs Sanitarium Company and the Hot Springs Hotel Company.
