Biographical / Historical

Jack Van Brunt was born in Denver, Colo. iin 1931. He was the son of Major Ernest Tylor Van Brunt (1896-1967) who served in both the first and second World Wars. Jack Van Brunt attended South High School (1948), the University of Denver, and later graduated from Annapolis (1953). He received additional military training at the Cold Weather Training Center, Camp Hale, and Ft. Carson, Colo. from 1955 to 1956. Van Brunt died in Denver, Colo. on November 27, 2004.

Jack Van Brunt was not a member of the 10th Mountain Division, but trained at the same facilities, Camp Hale, Colo. and Camp, late Fort Carson, Colo., that were used by the 10th Mountain Division during World War II.
