Biographical / Historical

Frank Romano, Jr. was born in Queens County, N.Y. in 1924. and enlisted in the Army on March 13, 1943 in New York City, N.Y. At the time of his enlistment, Romano was single, had graduated from high school and working as a practical nurse. He joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. serving in the 86th Infantry Regiment, Company K and in the Headquarters Company of the First Battalion. Romano attained the rank of Sergeant while serving with the 10th Mountain Division. He was later commissioned, attained the rank of Colonel and also served during the Korean War and the Viet Nam War.
