Biographical / Historical

Rocco J. Condito was born in Hingham, Mass. on in 1916 and enlisted in the Army on December 28, 1942 at Boston, Mass. At the time of his enlistment, he was unmarried, had completed two years of college and working as a wholesale manager. Condito joined the 10th Mountain Division while it was engaged in winter warfare training at Camp Hale, Colo. He was assigned to the 86th Infantry Regiment and served in Companies B, I and K. Also stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. and Italy, Condito received the Bronze Star Medal for his actions during the Appenines and Po RIver campaigns in Spring 1945.
