Biographical / Historical

Denver, Colo. artist and educator. Born Buffalo, N.Y. January 3, 1882. Studied at the Art Students League, New York City, N.Y.; Academie Julien, Paris, France (1902). Returned to the U.S. at the advent of WWI. Visited Pine, Colo. (1914) before settling in Denver, Colo. (1917). Took part in a controversial exhibition that introduced modern art to Denver held at the Denver Public Library (1919). Member Denver Atelier, taught at Chappell School of Art (1924-1929) and later at the University of Denver. Died Denver, Colo. 1945.
