Biographical / Historical
Thomas Jacob Noel was born on May 6, 1945 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received his B.A. in History from the University of Denver in 1967 and an M.A. in Library Science in 1969. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Noel has written, edited and co-authored countless books and articles on Colorado and Denver History. Since 1990 Noel has taught History at the University of Colorado at Denver. Previously he taught History part-time at local colleges and universities. Noel also assisted local historical organizations such as the National Register Review Board of Colorado, The Denver Landmark Preservation Commission, and Historic Denver, Inc. to name just a few. He has also received awards for his work.
