Collection contains annotated maps of Italy, Army booklets (not training manuals), black and white photographs from training and Italy, and scrapbook pages containing correspondence, transportation tickets, ration cards, shoe stamps, hotel bills, Italian and German currency, newspaper clippings, German stamps, leave passes, orders from 10th Infantry Division Headquarters

Biographical / Historical
Claude O. Matteson served in the 85th Infantry for the 10th Mountain Division. Matteson was stationed in Camp Hale, Camp Swift, and during combat operations in Italy. He was assigned to the 85th Infantry Headquarters during his station in Italy. Matteson made it to the rank of Private First Class.
