Biographical / Historical
Denver Walking Tours, Inc. was a nonprofit corporation founded in 1975 by Vicki Rottman and Patty Jobe. The organization offered guided walking tours of historic, architecturally significant areas of Denver, Colorado. The tours lasted approximately two hours, covering a distance of about 1 1/2 miles. The first tours were of Capitol Hill (Millionaire's Row), later tours included Swallow Hill (North Capitol Hill) in 1976, and Lower Downtown (Larimer Square/St. Charles) in 1977. Additional tours included art gallery tours with artist Bob Ragland, downtown tours with antique experts and a children's Exploratour in conjunction with the Children's Museum of Denver, as well as Special Second Sunday Strolls of different neighborhoods (Montclair with Tom Noel, Curtis Park with Brian Congleton, Globeville with Dennis Gallagher and Civic Center with David Kent Ballast). When the corporation was dissolved (circa 1980) its assets were given to Historic Denver, Inc.
