Biographical / Historical

Harold Van Dusen was born in New York on March 3, 1925 and had completed one year of college before enlisting in the Army on April 6, 1944 at Columbus, Ohio. He was assigned to the 10th Mountain Divison’s 86th Infantry Regiment, Company I, and began his training at Camp Swift, Texas. Van Dusen saw action with the 10th in Italy during World War II and earned a Bronze Star for his actions in the Apennine Mountains and Po River Valley. Harold Van Dusen died in Vermont on November 11, 1999.
