Biographical / Historical

Joseph R. Kane was born on August 23, 1911 in Johnstown, New York to John and Bridget Kane. He registered for the United States draft on October 16, 1940 at the age of 29. Kane was drafted on June 27, 2942 and assigned to Company E, 86th Infantry Regiment Medical Battalion (or possibly the 10th Mountain Division Quartermasters Medical Detachment). Kale trained at Camp Hale before transferring out of the 10th Mountain Division and deploying to the China Burma India Theater (CBI), where he attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Kane passed away on June 22, 2004.
