616th Field Artillery Battalion Records
Collection contains original and copied materials previously assembled into 11 binders by Charles Webb. Though nearly all materials have been removed from their binders, the original order of pages has been maintained. One album, The Mountain Artillery: The Mountain Howitzer, remains in its original binder. This collection originally comprised two boxes but has been reduced to one box following the removal of the binders.

Schenck organized the collection contents chronologically into scrapbooks; this order has been preserved.

BERNARD J. MURPHY PAPERS
The collection spans December 24, 1944 to March 29, 1945 and includes letters between Murphy and his wife, Yvette. Also included are letters between Murphy and his sister-in-law, Rheita Turgeon. Murphy began sending letters home just two days after his arrival in Italy. His first letters describe his impressions of Italy. Later letters provide numerous details and observations about his life on the front lines, his brief hospitalization and his short assignment to a rest camp.
