Collection contains a signed typescript copy of autobiographical sketch originally written in response to a request from the librarian J.L Gillis of the State Library of California. Mostly concerns Welcker's attempts to have his writings published.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE This collection consists primarily of journals and biographical sketches written by Anselm H. Barker. His journal of his first trip was published in 1959 as Anselm Holcomb Barker, 1822-1895, pioneer builder and early settler of Auraria; his diary of 1858 from Plattsmouth, Nebraska Territory, to Cherry Creek Diggings, the present site of Denver, Colorado. Collection contains three manuscripts in Spanish, chiefly a 26 page autobiographical "historia ho recuerdos de un anciano Nuevomicano." Biographical summary in English by a daughter. Also photocopies of a proclamation by Denver mayor W.H. McNichols, Jr. and letter from Colorado governor Richard D. Lamm on the occasion of his hundredth birthday.
