SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The collection contains primarily manuscript drafts for the numerous books Royal Brown Hassrick authored on the Native Americans and Western Art. Although most of his writings were non-fiction, a couple of fiction manuscripts are included. Hassrick's research includes the interviews with the Dakota tribe. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The Hal H. Harrison Papers are comprised of items from the years 1937 to 1990. Harrison’s research of common birds, and also the elusive warbler, make up the bulk of the collection. Also included in the collection are articles by Harrison, field notebooks, scrapbooks, correspondence, maps, and note cards.
