The collection consists of correspondence pertaining to an early job offer from the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company Several typewritten memoirs about his days with numerous railroad companies and a newspaper clipping regarding the death of a colleague, James Richard DeRemer, are included.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The Elmer Orville Davis Papers consist of his research and writing on railroading and related topics in the United States with an emphasis on Colorado. Manuscripts and research material for his series of articles, Seventy-five Years Ago, comprise the bulk of the collection. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The collection, dating from 1868-1991, consists of drawings, a resolution, a deed, a personnel record and an Historic American Buildings Survey. The personnel record is a partial record for an unidentified employee, which gives information on the employee and the application procedure.
