SCOPE AND CONTENT If it happened in Denver's African American community from the 1940s to the 1970s, Burnis McCloud photographed the event. He took more than 100,000 photographs. The collection includes photographs and negatives of everything from organizations and sporting events to weddings; beauticians and barbers to formal dances and debutante balls; NAACP conventions; golf and other sporting events. Collection contains color and black and white slides featuring events at Cheyenne Frontier Days (1993), Rocky Mountain Arsenal (1991), Streetcar Stables lofts (1993), Denver City Park (1991), City of Denver and Denver Skyline (1991-1992), Stapleton Airport (1993), and Estes Park Llama and Alpaca Show images and programs (undated). A small amount of ephemera is included.

Collection contains 1,858 negatives (including glass plate negatives), 186 slides, and 147 photo prints. These images are portrait, feature, and current and special event photographic images stemming from Perry's work as a photojournalist.
